From the Hotline
By Teri Henning, General Counsel
Pennsylvania Newspaper Association
Q: Can an employment or recruiting agency advertise without listing its name or the fact that it is an employment agency?
A: No. Under Pennsylvania law, all advertisements of employment agents must contain the name and address of the employment agent and the words “employment agency.” If the agency charges an applicant a fee for its services, any advertisement must state that a fee will be charged.
