Q: Are financial disclosure statements completed and filed by school directors public records?
A: Yes. School Board members are "public officials" and are required to file statements of financial disclosure under the state Public Official And Employee Ethics Act. All statements of financial interests filed pursuant to the Act "shall be made available for public inspection and copying during regular office hours, and copying facilities shall be made available at a charge not to exceed actual cost."
