CHARLES P. SMITH

Charles P. "Chuck" Smith died Saturday, January 7, 2006. He was 79.

He was the husband of Carolyn C. Smith.

Born in Hartford, CT, on November 1, 1926, he was the son of the late Thomas S. and Cathryn (Klingler) Smith.

For 32 years, Mr. Smith was the publisher of The Intelligencer newspaper in Doylestown. He retired in 2000.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons Charles C. Smith and his wife Allison of New York City and Timothy K. Smith and his wife Cathryn of Arlington, VA; two grandchildren Owen and Eva; a brother Thomas Smith of Rhode Island and a sister Ellen Clarke of Princeton, NJ.

The viewing was on Jan. 12 and the funeral Mass was celebrated on Jan. 13 in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Doylestown.
