Consumer Networks Says Online Coupon Service Expanding

By E&P Staff

Consumer Networks, a network of newspaper development groups based in San Diego, says more than a dozen newspapers have recently signed on to Boodle, its online coupon solution.

A news release by the company says the recent additions bring the total number of papers using the Boodle service to over 300.

Boodle now works with 323 newspapers nationwide to feature offers from consumer packaged goods companies such as General Mills, Kimberly-Clark, and SC Johnson.

“We are thrilled at the tremendous response we are getting from newspapers nationwide to add coupons to their Web sites,” Jeff Beliveau, Vice President of Newspaper Relations at Consumer Networks, said in a statement. “Newspapers are recognizing that their strong, high traffic Web sites provide the perfect avenue for online coupon sections and can be a good way to reach readers who are increasingly relying on the Internet for news and information.”

The latest companies to sign up for the Boodle service include Prime Time Newspapers Inc. in San Antonio, Texas, Tri-State Media in Indiana, and Midland Newspapers Inc. in Iowa and Nebraska.
