William Kennedy named executive editor of The Indiana Gazette.
William Kennedy, a 29-year newspaper veteran and the former executive editor of a Kansas newspaper, has become the executive editor of
The Indiana
Gazette.
Kennedy, 51, was executive editor at The Topeka Capital-Journal for two years. He replaces former executive editor Samuel J. Bechtel, who resigned in August after more than 11 years with the newspaper, about 45 miles northeast of Pittsburgh.
After graduating from the Bethany College in West Virginia, Kennedy began his newspaper career with
The Times-Leader in Bellaire and Martins Ferry, Ohio, where he was a reporter and city editor. He was also copy desk chief and news editor at
The Vindicator in Youngstown, Ohio, and managing editor at
The Augusta Chronicle in Augusta, Ga.
