Bring your questions on Pennsylvania's future
for Bruce Katz of the Brookings Institution
The Brookings Institution's recent report
on Pennsylvania rebuked state government for "ill-conceived policies,
misguided funding and bureaucratic inefficiencies that have promoted some
of the worst sprawl in the nation, frightened away business, and hastened
brain drain," in the words of The Philadelphia Inquirer. Bring
your questions on what it will take to revitalize the state for Bruce
Katz, who will discuss the report Jan. 28 at the Government Affairs
Conference. Don't be left out! Government
Affairs Banquet is a great way to meet with your legislators, catching up
on the work they are doing for constituents and how they feel about issues
important to the newspaper industry. [CLICK

Donations to Foundation matched by McLean
Contributionship will provide up-to-date computers for training
The PNA Foundation has reached more than a third of its goal in its effort to raise $25,000 for a regional training and technology endowment. Contributions up to $25,000 will be matched dollar for dollar by the McLean Contributionship, a foundation run by the McLean family.
The Contributionship also awarded the Foundation a $50,000 grant to transform its computer lab from fixed PCs to laptops. Interest from the endowment would allow the foundation to keep computer equipment current with technology and would also help offset the cost of regional training. So far, the Foundation has raised $9,100.
To make a donation to the endowment, please contact Connie McNamara, Foundation Director, at (717)703-3002 or by
email.
