Calkins newspapers honored by DEP
Bucks
County Courier Times and The
(Doylestown) Intelligencer have been honored with a Waste Watcher
Award by the state Department
of Environmental Protection. The program recognizes outstanding
recycling, waste reduction, reuse and composting programs across the
state.

Montgomery Newspapers names two editors
Dominic Mercier,
editor of Art
Matters magazine, has been named managing editor for the 11 weekly
newspapers published from the Montgomery Newspapers' Fort Washington
office.

Journalists cited for trespassing near chemical plant
CBS correspondent Steve Kroft, a freelance video cameraman and a Pittsburgh newspaper reporter were ticketed for trespassing at a chemical plant just outside the city last week, a plant official said

Federal Reserve Bank economist to discuss
business outlook at PNA's Convention
Herb Taylor, Ph.D., an expert on economics from the Federal Reserve
Bank in Philadelphia, will discuss the dynamics at work in the
current business cycle, the likely future course of recovery and
expansion of the U.S. economy and some implications for Pennsylvania.
Taylor's presentation, this year's keynote, is slated for
Friday, Oct. 31 at 8:30 a.m. at the Hotel Hershey
